The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST Thursday, December 7, 2006.

A cold front will cross Northern and Central Georgia on Thursday, bringing another surge of cold air. This front should be dry, bringing only some cloudiness. Strong winds will accompany this front as it pushes across North and Central Georgia. Some gusts to 40 MPH are possible, especially over the higher elevations.

A wind advisory means that sustained winds of 20 to 35 MPH or wind gusts of at least 35 MPH are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
