Wind Advisory Now in Effect Till Midnight EST Tonight

--By on --

A STRONG COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH NORTH GEORGIA HAS CAUSED AN INCREASE IN WINDS. SPEEDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH ARE LIKELY TO PERSIST WELL INTO THE EVENING ACROSS THE NORTHERN-MOST COUNTIES OF THE STATE, ESPECIALLY ON RIDGES AND MOUNTAIN TOPS. SOME AREAS MAY SEE GUSTS OF 35 TO 40 MPH. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.

WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO DECREASE AFTER MIDNIGHT.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 35 MPH OR WIND GUSTS OF AT LEAST 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED.
